Medical Lab Tech Guest Speaks

Sixth grade students listened to medical lab technician, Tina Roy, who works at Northern Maine Medical Center, speak about her job and all that it entails. She talked about each department in the lab and what each is responsible for. She showed students how she draws blood and different tubes used to test for different issues. Tina also went over what they need to do when they go into a COVID patient's room to protect themselves and the patient. She had a student volunteer dress and undress as though she were entering a COVID patient's room. Students learned a lot and asked many great questions!
